So sorry to hear this.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Cath. It helps to hear from friends.
DeleteI am sad to hear this, Judith. I know the pain of losing an animal friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Tracy. It helps to know that we are not alone with the intense grief that comes from losing a special family pet.
DeleteIt's heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet... I'm so sorry to hear this news, Judith. ((hugs))
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the hugs, JoAnn. I know you're close to your doggie, and it's so nice to share the sad times with people who know that special "loss of pet" pain.
DeleteI'm absolutely shocked by this news, I'm so sorry that Sasha is gone. I know what it's like. I'm thinking of you and Ken.
ReplyDeleteIt is so comforting to have friends commiserate over the loss of a special friend. For dogs are the most special of friends, as are cats for those who love cats.
DeleteI had an inkling something not good was up about three weeks ago today. She had a very bad day, did not want to move, and slept all day and night. Then Monday came and she bounced out of the bedroom friskily. The vet couldn't find anything wrong a few days later.
But an even worse day came last Tuesday morning and I knew it was the end. All the Goldens (3)(and one Lab) that we've had have died of cancer.
I know that there is genetic work being done with Goldens and Labs. Some vet geneticists are trying to mark the gene that causes these cancers, which are so widespread in both breeds. The hope is that one day dogs carrying the gene won't be bred.
Goldens are such wonderful companions--obedient, super-affectionate, and smart. That's why we keep going back for more...
