It's been a long time since I participated in a Classics Club Spin. My #20 Slot for The Twenty Books of Summer is empty, so I'll fill it with whichever book rolls around for me on Sunday. Of course, I will not be reading the Classics Club Spin book at the end of the summer. I'll read it in the time specifically allotted. I just recently read Rebecca by du Maurier and then I read some stories from a different collection than the one on your list. I liked those too. I want to read more by du Maurier now.
ReplyDeleteI loved Rebecca, and more recently I really liked My Cousin Rachel. Very good. Ken and I recently watched The Scapegoat on Acorn TV, the film based on her novel by the same name. It was very good. Now I should read the book.
DeleteI believe that number 5 came up in the spin, so you'll be reading In This House of Brede. I read it in the 1970s and really enjoyed it despite not being attracted to the setting of a convent. From your list I've read numbers, 1, 2, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14 and 20.

ReplyDeleteI'm interested in what you thought of The House on the Strand. Some one of these days I'll get there. I'm glad you liked An Act of Love--a good discussion book, I thought. Lots of complex layers in all those relationships.
